Today SHOCK Directors reported progress in 2010/11 on its sustainability objectives to its AGM.
Environmental: In the last year our wind turbine has produced 264,487 kWh of zero carbon power, displacing the emission of 144.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide from fossil fuelled power stations.
Economic: 5% interest capital was paid on share capital held on 2011, and 29 days of work provided for local residents.
Social: £3000 was set aside for the village’s sustainability projects, but more immediately the AGM ended with a BBQ hosted by Hockerton Housing Project for the Society’s members and local residents.
