Today SHOCK Directors reported progress on its sustainability objectives to its AGM.
Environmental: In the last year our wind turbine has produced 281,212 kWh of zero carbon power, displacing the emission of 146.33 tonnes of carbon dioxide from fossil fuelled power stations; detailed energy assessments have been undertaken of 3 homes in the Parish.
Economic: 7.5% interest capital was paid on share capital held on 2013, and 38 days of work provided for local residents.
Social: £10,000 was set aside for the village’s sustainability projects; the public phone box is now a book exchange; community events were supported in June and Christmas
There are now 76 members of the Society. If you are interested in joining, as and when shares are made available for transfer by existing members, please contact us. Priority will be given to local residents.
